Our roots

A family of leather saddlers for several generations, we wanted to pay tribute to this rich family heritage.

A family story

The five of us form a close-knit, complementary team.

Our story begins in the 1970s, in the Basque town of Sare, where we grew up, surrounded by nature and the smell of leather from the saddlery workshop of our father and uncle, Jean-Michel Devoucoux. From an early age, we grew up in a world where handiwork combined with the ingenuity of beautiful design were paramount. Influenced by the world of saddlery in which we are immersed, we develop a love for materials and the in-depth study of product development to design pieces that are beautiful, resistant and comfortable.

In 2018, we, Mathieu and Damien Devoucoux, inaugurated our saddlery and leather goods workshop named Façon Cuir. Our father Jean-Michel and sister Noémie soon join us, and the workshop grows rapidly. A new family chapter began. We felt the need to develop a project that would be like us and that would share the strong values that drive us. Values of kindness, authenticity and boldness. That's when Benoît, our cousin, joined us. The ERRO leather goods brand was born in June 2022. The rest is still to be written, but one thing is certain: it's a story we're writing together.

Our vision

We design and manufacture Haute Maroquinerie pieces, like companions for everyday life.

With audacity, we have set ourselves the mission of linking Beauty to Ethics by applying a rigorous environmental approach. ERRO thus combines its know-how with fundamental values, with the desire to redefine the contours of authentic luxury.

We design sustainable pieces, made locally by those who imagined them. In our workshop in the Basque country, we write every day the outlines of a new human and benevolent model based on living well and sharing.
